Closed Days are the days you do not send parcels: the days of the week you are always closed, and holidays. While Closed Days is on, every delivery date your shoppers see starts from your next open day. Orders are still taken every day. Open it from Settings › Delivery Rates and PIN Codes › Closed Days. Anyone who can see settings can open it; changing it needs the right to change settings.
Switch It On
- Switch Closed Days on.
- Under Weekly Off Days, press each day you never send parcels (Sunday, for example). The line under the buttons says how many days a week you are closed. You can never choose all seven.
- Leave Holiday Notice on the Store on to show a notice during a holiday (see below), or switch it off.
- Press SAVE.
The line at the top of the page says the day an order placed now leaves.
Set a Daily Cut-off
Daily Cut-off is its own switch, on the same page; it works with or without Closed Days.
- Switch Daily Order Cut-off on.
- Pick the Cut-off Time (in half hours, your store's time; 2:00 pm to start with).
- Press SAVE.
An order placed at or after the time counts from the next day (the next open day while Closed Days is on). Until the time passes, the product page's delivery check says "Order by 2:00 pm to send today". The line at the top of the page says the day an order placed now leaves, counting the cut-off.
Add a Holiday
- Under Holidays, press ADD HOLIDAY.
- Give it a Name (Diwali), its First Day and Last Day (one day, or up to 60 in a row).
- If you like, write a Notice on the Store in your own words, up to 200 characters: "We are closed for Diwali. Orders placed now are sent on 13 Nov."
- Press SAVE.
A holiday in progress is marked Closed Now, one within 30 days Coming Up. Past holidays are kept under Past Holidays until you remove them. To change one, press EDIT; to remove it, press the bin (UNDO brings it back).
How the Dates Count
The day a parcel can leave is your first open day from today (tomorrow, after your cut-off), then the dispatch days you set in Store Details, counted on open days only. Every date starts from it:
| Where | What changes |
|---|---|
| The product page | Arrives between and Get it by start from it |
| The bag | The delivery line's date |
| Checkout | Each delivery speed's dates |
| Test a PIN | Each option's dates, in the admin |
After that day, delivery days count Monday to Saturday, as before: your holidays stop you, not the courier.
For example: you are closed on Sundays and on 9 and 10 November. A shopper orders on Sunday 8 November with Standard delivery (2 to 4 days). The parcel leaves on Wednesday 11 November, so checkout says it arrives between Friday 13 and Monday 16 November.
The Notice on the Store
While today (India time) falls in one of your holidays and Holiday Notice on the Store is on, a slim line shows on every page of your store: your own notice for that holiday, or, if you wrote none, "We are closed for Diwali until Tue, 10 Nov. Orders placed now are sent from Wed, 11 Nov." It appears at midnight on the first day and goes at midnight after the last day by itself. Mercayo's words for the line can be changed in Localization.
Good to Know
- One cut-off time serves every day of the week.
- Couriers' own holidays are not known.
- Markets abroad and orders your team makes keep their own dates.
- Mercayo can set or limit these settings for your store, with a reason your admin shows.
