"Store credit, gift cards, rewards tiers and refer and earn." Settings › Rewards and Credit holds the rules of your store's money-like features. Store credit is on for every store; gift cards, rewards tiers and refer and earn start off.

Store Credit
Credit shoppers spend at checkout.

Store Credit
Credit is the base of the other three: refunds as credit, cashback from rewards tiers, and referral rewards are all paid as store credit. If you turn Store Credit off, those cannot be paid. See Store Credit.
Gift Cards
With Gift Cards on, shoppers buy cards in your store at the Amounts to Choose From (₹500, ₹1,000, ₹2,000, ₹5,000 by default), or type their own between the smallest and largest. A card expires after Months Until a Gift Card Expires (12 by default; 0 means never, within the minimum Mercayo sets). Shoppers can ask for more time on a card about to expire, or that expired, between Days Before Expiry to Ask and Days After Expiry to Ask; you approve each request unless Approve Extension Requests at Once is on. Rewards Tiers and Refer and Earn
Set up tiers on Rewards and see invitations on Referrals; the rules live here. Example referral: ₹100 for each side, on a first order of ₹499 or more, paid 7 days after delivery, at most 10 rewards a month per shopper.
How This Page Works
Settings pages share one way of working (see Settings Home):
- Each card groups the settings of one feature, with a line saying what it is for. Its main switch turns the whole feature on or off.
- Change what you need; a save bar appears with SAVE. "Settings saved." Nothing changes on your store until you save.
- USE DEFAULT puts a setting you changed back to Mercayo's default.
- A setting Set by Mercayo for your store shows Locked (with Mercayo's reason when given) and cannot be changed here; "Mercayo allows … for your store." shows a range Mercayo has set.
- If a teammate saved the page after you opened it: "Someone else saved these settings after you opened the page, so yours were not saved. Reload to see theirs."
- Anyone who can see settings can look ("You can see these settings. Changing them needs the settings right."); saving needs the right to change settings.
Questions
Can a gift card never expire?
Set Months Until a Gift Card Expires to 0, if Mercayo's minimum for your store allows it.
Can the friend get a discount instead of credit?
Yes: turn on First-order Discount for the Friend. With Credit as Well as the Discount off (the default), a friend who used the discount gets no store credit.
