Many brands keep stock in more than one place: a warehouse in Bhiwandi, a shop in Bandra, a partner who packs for them. Locations keeps each one's stock apart, and Transfers moves stock between them with a record of what was sent and what arrived.
Locations
"A shop, a warehouse or a partner who keeps stock for you." Every store starts with one. ADD LOCATION with a Name (for example "Bhiwandi Warehouse") and an Address (for your team; shoppers never see it).
Each location shows Units, Variants, Held (for orders), Open Transfers and whether it Sells Online. One location is the Online Location: the store sells from its stock. Make Online Location switches it ("Shoppers now buy from …"). Archive takes a location out of the lists and pickers (not the online location, and only once it has no stock and no open transfer or count); Restore brings it back. Your plan sets how many locations you can have ("… of … locations on your plan"; Starter 1, Growth 3, Scale 10).
Transfers
- NEW TRANSFER: choose From and To, a Reference (a challan or docket number) and a Note.
- Add Items: Find a product by name, SKU or barcode, or scan it, and set each quantity (Can Send shows how many can go).
- SEND: "Send 120 Units?". The units leave the first location now; the transfer is On the Way.
- When the parcel arrives, open it and type or scan What Arrived ("Units … that arrived now"), or Everything Arrived, then RECEIVE.
- If some units never come, Close With What Arrived and CLOSE TRANSFER ("8 units never arrived.").
Cancel Transfer: a draft is kept as cancelled (nothing has moved yet); a transfer on its way sends every unit back to where it came from. A received transfer cannot be cancelled. Tabs: All, Drafts, On the Way, Received, Cancelled.
Stock from a Spreadsheet
On Inventory, Inventory Spreadsheet: EXPORT CSV gives every variant's stock per location. To change many at once, fill in the file and use Change Stock From a File (up to 5,000 rows, 5 MB): each row by SKU, barcode or handle, a location, and either the new on-hand number or a change. The preview says "Ready: … stock numbers will change." or which rows need fixing ("Would go below 0", "No active location by this name"). APPLY changes them all ("… stock numbers changed from the file.").
