In a marketplace store the shopper pays you for the whole order. Products › Seller Payouts shows what you owe each seller for their part, and how you pay it.
How a Seller's Money Is Worked Out
Every item a seller sells carries your commission from the moment the order is placed: your default share (for example 10%) plus any fixed amount per item, unless a rule says otherwise. When the seller's part of the order is delivered, their account gets:
- the sale (what the shopper paid for their items);
- less your commission;
- less your fee per order, if you set one;
- less 1% TCS on the taxable value, which you collect as the e-commerce operator.
A return of their items takes the sale back, gives the commission and the TCS back, and shows as its own row. A delivered sale becomes payable after the wait you set in Pay sellers after (days), so a return can still come in first.
Balances
Each approved seller with what is Payable now, what is still Waiting for the return window, and what you have paid so far. Their bank account (the last four digits and IFSC from their KYC) is beside their name.
- MAKE STATEMENT puts every payable row on a numbered statement for that seller.
- ADJUST BALANCE adds to or takes from what the seller is owed, with a note they see (a goodwill credit, a damaged parcel they pay for).
- ROUTE ACCOUNT keeps the seller's Razorpay Route account id (it starts acc_).
Statements
A statement lists each order it pays for: the sale, your commission, the fee, the TCS and any return, and the net payout. Pay it in one of two ways:
- MARK PAID: pay the net amount into the seller's bank account from your own bank, then give the bank's reference (UTR).
- PAY BY ROUTE: when Pay sellers by Razorpay Route is on, Razorpay moves the amount from your Razorpay balance into the seller's linked account. If Razorpay refuses, the statement shows why and stays open to pay again.
The seller sees every statement and every row of their account in their own panel under Payouts.
Commission Rules
Your default commission is set in Settings under Marketplace. A rule replaces it for a category, a seller, or a seller in one category. The most exact rule wins: a product's own rule, then a seller in a category, then a seller, then a category. A rule applies to orders placed after you save it; orders already placed keep the commission they were placed with.
TCS and GSTR-8
As an e-commerce operator you collect 1% GST TCS on each seller's net taxable sales and file it in GSTR-8 by the 10th of the next month. The TCS (GSTR-8) view shows each seller with a GSTIN, their gross sales, returns, net taxable value and the TCS split into IGST, or CGST and SGST halves when the shopper is in the seller's own state. DOWNLOAD CSV gives the month's file for your accountant.
Sellers' Tax Invoices
Each seller's items are invoiced in the seller's name and GSTIN, with their own numbering, when the order is confirmed; a cancellation or return makes a credit note. You find them on the order page under Sellers' Parts, and the seller finds them under Tax Invoices in their panel. Your own items and the delivery charge stay on your store's own invoice.
