Invoices lists every GST invoice and credit note your store issued in the dates you choose, with their totals, and makes the files your CA needs for GSTR-1 in one export. Open Orders › Invoices. It needs the right to see orders ("Your role cannot see orders, so it cannot see their invoices either."). General guidance, not tax advice: your CA files your return.

The Screen
- Dates at the top, and Totals for These Dates: Invoices, Credit Notes, Taxable Value, GST, Invoice Value and Credited.
- Tabs Invoices and Credit Notes, with Search by invoice or order number.
- Invoice columns: Invoice, Date, Order, the customer, Buyer GSTIN (for business invoices), Taxable, GST, Total. Credit notes: Credit Note, Against Invoice, Reason (Cancelled, Returned Undelivered, Refund, Goods Returned), Credited.
- Each row: Download PDF and Open the Order. 50 a page.
A store with no GST registration sees No GST Invoices Yet ("Invoices are issued once your store is registered for GST.") with OPEN TAX SETTINGS. Invoices are issued by themselves when an order is confirmed or shipped, and credit notes when one is cancelled, comes back or is refunded. On a showcase store they are samples, stamped SAMPLE.
Export for GSTR-1
- Press EXPORT FOR GSTR-1.
- Which Dates: Last Month, Last Quarter (for the quarterly QRMP scheme) or Other Dates (up to 92 days).
- Tick Include the PDF of Every Document if your CA wants the PDFs too.
- Press EXPORT. A ZIP downloads.
The Files in the ZIP
The ZIP holds the files the GST portal's offline tool reads, and the PDFs when you asked for them:
| File | Holds |
|---|---|
| b2b and cdnr | Invoices and credit notes to businesses, with their GSTINs |
| b2cl and cdnur | Large invoices to other states and their credit notes |
| b2cs | Every other sale, by state and rate |
| hsn | The HSN summary for businesses and for shoppers |
| exp | Exports out of India (none while you sell in India only) |
| nil | Sales at a nil rate, exempt or outside GST |
| docs | The number ranges of the documents issued |
Without PDFs one export takes up to 50,000 documents; with PDFs, 2,000 ("Choose fewer days, or leave out the PDFs."). "No invoices or credit notes were issued in those dates." when there is nothing.
Questions
Can I upload the files straight to the GST portal?
The screen says: "Ask your CA to check the files before you upload them to the GST portal." The files are made for the portal's offline tool.
Why is an order missing?
Only issued documents are listed. Check the order's GST Invoice card; an order of an unregistered store has none.
