Import from WooCommerce

Move your WooCommerce catalogue to Mercayo: export the products CSV with all columns, check it in Mercayo, understand how variable products and categories come across, and import.

Last updated 19 October 2026

Mercayo reads WooCommerce's built-in product export: simple and variable products with their variations, prices and sale prices, stock, categories, tags, pictures and descriptions. You see a preview before anything changes. The screen is explained in Import and Export.

Step 1: Export from WooCommerce

In your WordPress admin: Products, Export, choose all columns and all products, and press Generate CSV. Keep the file as CSV.

Step 2: Import

  1. In Mercayo open Settings › Import and Export, tab Import.
  2. What to Import: Products. Exported From: WooCommerce.
  3. Choose the Options (start as Draft, copy pictures, make missing categories, collections and brands).
  4. Drop the file, press CHECK FILE, read the preview and any Rows with Problems.
  5. Press IMPORT.

What Comes Across from WooCommerce

WooCommerceBecomes in Mercayo
Type: simpleA product with no options
Type: variable, with its variation rowsA product with options (Attribute 1 to 3 names and values) and one variant per variation
Name, Description (or Short description)Title and description
SKUSKU (and how a later import matches a product)
Regular price, Sale priceWith a sale price: price = sale price and MRP = regular price; otherwise price = regular price
In stock?, StockStock (tracked when a number is given)
Categories (paths like "Women > Kurtas")Categories
Tags, BrandsTags and brand
Images (comma separated)Pictures; a variation's picture shows for its option values
WeightWeight, converted from the file's unit
PublishedActive or Draft
A column naming "HSN"HSN code

Grouped and external (affiliate) products are passed over, with a note. WooCommerce's file has no handle: Mercayo makes one from the name (a second product of the same name gets -2), and a later import matches by SKU.

Step 3: Finish

  • Add HSN codes if your file had none, check collections and build your menus.
  • WooCommerce's product addresses (/product/<name>/) differ from Mercayo's (/products/<handle>). Add URL Redirects for your most-visited products so old links and search rankings keep working.
  • Customers: WooCommerce's product export does not include customers. Bring them as a Mercayo-format customers CSV if you have one; see Import and Export.
  • Set imported drafts Active when ready.

Questions

My variable product came in without options. Why?

Check that the export had all columns, including the Attribute columns, and that the variation rows name their parent.

Can I import again after fixing the file?

Yes. Products match by SKU and are updated, never doubled.
