Birthday credit gives each shopper store credit on their birthday, once a year, to spend in your store. It is a small present that brings them back. It is off for a new store.
Turn It On
In Settings › Rewards and Gifts, the Birthday Credit card:

Store credit must be on, since the gift is paid in it.
How Shoppers Add Their Birthday
Signed-in shoppers find Your Birthday on My Account › Profile: "Add your birthday and get ₹150 of store credit on the day, to spend within 30 days." They pick the day and the month (never the year) and press SAVE BIRTHDAY. They can set it once; after that the card says "To change it, please contact the store."
When the Gift Is Given
Every night, India time, Mercayo gives the gift to each shopper whose birthday it is (a 29 February birthday is celebrated on 28 February in other years):
- once a year per shopper, even if their birthday is changed;
- only when the birthday was added at least 30 days before, so nobody types today's date to collect;
- only after the delivered orders you ask for;
- with an email ("Happy birthday from …"), when their email is confirmed.
The gift appears in their store credit history as Birthday Credit.
What They Do Not Spend
When the gift's days end, what is left of it is taken back (Birthday Credit Ended in their history). Spending with store credit uses the birthday gift first. Credit they had before, or got after, is never taken.
Change a Customer's Birthday
Open the customer from Customers. The Birthday card shows the day they gave and the gifts they got (given, spent, taken back). With the right to edit customers, press CHANGE, pick the day and month, give a reason and press SAVE BIRTHDAY. The change is in your activity log.
Questions
Are there points?
No. Mercayo's rewards are store credit, so the birthday gift is store credit too.
Can a shopper change their birthday to get a second gift?
No. A shopper sets it once, only your team can change it, and the gift is given once a year whatever the date says.
Does it work while rewards tiers are off?
Yes. Birthday credit has its own switch; it only needs store credit on.
