Price Lists and Customer Groups

Give business buyers their own prices. A price list sets fixed prices or a percentage off, by variant, product or category; a customer group puts businesses and customers on that list.

A price list is a set of prices for some of your buyers. A customer group points at one price list, and every business and customer in the group buys at its prices. You might have a "Wholesale" list for shops and a "Hotels & Restaurants" list for kitchens.

Open Customers › Price Lists (or PRICE LISTS on the Businesses screen). It shows your lists and, below them, your Customer Groups.

Making a Price List

  1. Choose NEW PRICE LIST and give it a name.
  2. Off Everything Else: a percentage off every item the list's rows do not name. Leave 0 to keep your prices for those.
  3. Add rows for what should cost something different: pick a variant, a product or a category, then give a fixed price or a percentage off. Each row shows your price and what the buyer pays.
  4. SAVE. If someone else saved the list since you opened it, you are asked to reload first, so nobody's changes are lost.

When several rows could apply to an item, the most specific wins: the variant's row, then the product's, then the nearest category's, then the list's percentage. A list never makes an item cost more than your own price.

Active pauses a list without deleting it: while paused, its groups buy at your normal prices.

Groups

Choose NEW GROUP, name it, and pick its Price List. Then:

  • put a business in it from the business's page (Customer Group, under Terms and Credit), or when you approve it;
  • put a single customer in it from their customer page (the Business Buying card).

Deleting a group puts its businesses and customers back on your normal prices.

How the Price Shows and Is Charged

A signed-in buyer sees their price on product cards, product pages and in the bag, with your price struck through and a Trade tag. In the bag, at checkout, on the order and on the GST invoice, the difference is shown as one offer, "Trade price · Wholesale", so the order, the invoice and any credit note match to the paisa, and GST is worked out on the price they paid.

Pages with trade prices are never shared with other shoppers: a buyer's prices are only ever shown to that buyer.

Your Offers and Trade Prices

By default your own offers (automatic offers, codes, free delivery offers) do not apply on top of trade prices: they count only the items in the bag at your own prices. A code on a bag of only trade-priced items says it does not apply to trade or quoted prices.

To let your offers apply on top of trade prices as well, turn on Store Offers Also Apply to Quotes and Trade Prices in the settings at the foot of Customers › Businesses. Quantity prices and buy X get Y then work on the trade price.
