A shopper calls about an order. Press Ctrl K, type their phone number, and you are on their order. The command palette finds records and screens from anywhere in the admin.

In short
What It Does
Open the palette with Ctrl K (Cmd K on a Mac), / when you are not typing in a field, or the search button at the top of the menu (and in the phone's top bar).
It finds two kinds of things:
- Pages and actions: every screen in your menu, the main settings screens you may open, and actions such as ADD PRODUCT and CREATE DISCOUNT, filtered as you type.
- Records: orders (by number, phone, name or email), products (by title or SKU) and customers with a record in your store (accounts, and guests your team has tagged, noted or given credit; by name, phone or email), five of each. A phone search needs at least 4 digits.
Use the arrow keys and Enter, or tap; Escape closes it. Your last picks are remembered on this device.
Results follow your rights: a group you may not see is left out entirely, never shown as "nothing found".
The palette and its search load only when opened, so they never slow down the admin.

Why It Matters
The questions that interrupt your day ("where is my order?", "is this in stock?") start with a number or a name. Finding the record in one step, without knowing which screen it lives on, saves minutes many times a day and makes new team members productive at once.
It is also the quickest way around the admin itself: type "discounts" or "taxes" and you are on that screen, without remembering which menu it sits under.
For a team, it also removes the need to teach where everything lives: a new helper who knows what they want finds it by typing its name.

Searches run as you, with your rights checked by the database for each group of results. Mercayo has no settings here.

Good to Know Before You Start
- It shows the first five results of each kind; the full lists have their own searches.
- It searches orders, products and customers, plus screens and actions; other records are found on their own screens.
Questions
About Search and Command Palette
Does it find guest shoppers?
Customers appear when they have a record in your store (an account, or a guest your team tagged, noted or gave credit). Any order, guest or not, is found by its number, phone, name or email.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Ctrl K (Cmd K on a Mac) or / opens it, arrows move, Enter opens, Escape closes; the account menu lists the shortcuts.
Can I search by phone number?
Yes, typed with or without spaces, for orders and customers.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, from the search button in the top bar.
Will staff find things they should not see?
No. Each group of results is checked against the person's rights in the database; a group they may not see is left out.
Can I open settings from it?
Yes, every settings screen you may open is listed under pages.
