You can sign in to your admin with your Google account instead of typing your password: on the sign-in page, in the phone app, and from a staff invitation. Google only proves who you are. Your account, your stores and your rights stay exactly as they are, and two-step sign-in still asks for its code after Google.
Sign in with Google
- Open the admin's sign-in page (or the phone app).
- Press CONTINUE WITH GOOGLE. The button shows "Opening Google…" while Google's page opens.
- Choose your Google account and allow it.
- You are back in the admin, signed in. If you set up two-step sign-in, the Two-Step Sign-In step asks for your 6-digit code first, as after a password.
The first time, Mercayo finds your account by the email address that Google has confirmed belongs to you, and links that Google account to it. After that, the same Google account signs you in even if its email changes.
Sign Up with Google
On Create Your Store, press SIGN UP WITH GOOGLE. Google confirms your email, so there is no code to type, and you go straight to the store step: your store's name, its address, the kind of store and the terms, as when you sign up with a code.
Join a Team from an Invitation
On the invitation page, press CONTINUE WITH GOOGLE with the Google account of the email you were invited at. If you have no account yet, one is made and you join the store at once. If you have one, you sign in and press ACCEPT INVITATION.
Link or Unlink Google
Open your account menu (your name at the foot of the side menu; on a phone, the More sheet) and choose Sign-in security. The Sign in with Google card shows which Google account is linked and since when, and your last few Google sign-ins.
- LINK GOOGLE: opens Google; choose the account and allow it. "Google is linked. Next time, sign in with Google." Your Google email may differ from the email you sign in with.
- UNLINK: press it and confirm. You then sign in with your email and password. Sign-ins already open on your devices stay open until they end.
- An account made with Google has no password of its own: "You have no password yet. Set one before you unlink Google, so you can still get in." Type a new password twice and press SET PASSWORD; UNLINK then works. Forgot password? on the sign-in page sets one too.

For Store Owners: Switch It Off for Your Team
In Settings › Sign-In and Security, Sign in with Google is on to start with. Switch it off and save: your team's Google sign-ins in your store end within seconds and they sign in with their email and password instead. Their other stores are not affected. Every Google sign-in, link and unlink of your team is in Settings › Activity Log.
Questions
Does Google skip two-step sign-in?
No. Google replaces the password step only. Anyone who has set up two-step sign-in, or whose store requires it, gives the code after Google.
Can someone else's Google account get into my store?
Only a Google account whose email Google has confirmed and that matches your account (or that you linked yourself) signs you in. An email Google has not confirmed is never used.
Does Mercayo see my Google password?
No. You type it on Google's own page. Mercayo receives only your name, your email and Google's confirmation of it.
